What to Bring


Personal Items to bring if staying overnight

  • Items you are already comfortable with; a robe, slippers, pajamas and leisurewear.  We encourage you to label your clothing.
  • Toiletries. Toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, battery-operated shaver.  You will be provided with soap and toothpaste.
  • Medications.  Leave all medications at home unless instructed otherwise by your primary care physician.
  • Bring a list of medications you are currently taking with names and dose strength.
  • Bring a list of names of any over-the-counter medicines, herbs and vitamins you are taking. During your stay medications will be provided by the hospital, unless instructed otherwise by your primary care physician.
  • Phone or calling card.  Your room is equipped with a phone for your use, Phoenix is considered a local call. Cell phone use is discouraged.

What to Leave at Home

  • Electrical appliances, food and valuables; including money, rings, watches and other jewelry.

Physicians and Staff

Our entire hospital staff will wear a photo identification  badge with their title and name clearly visible.   Our goal is to take a personal approach during our interactions with you and will treat you with dignity and respect at all times.  Our entire team at Florence Community Healthcare recognizes we play a vital role in your healing process.  We appreciate feedback on all aspects of your stay.  You will be provided with an opportunity to respond to a patient survey when you are discharged.  We use feedback to continually assess our level of service and strive to provide you with an exceptional experience during the entire continuum of care.

Admitting and Registration

Upon your arrival please be prepared to provide the Registration/Admitting Office with the following:

  • Name (photo identification is required)
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Insurance Card and Information (Confirm your insurance coverage by contacting your provider to verify all aspects of your coverage.)
  • Prior approval or pre-authorization form
  • We may collect a portion of your insurance deductible and/or co-payment at the time of registration.

You may also need to bring:

  • Credit card or check book.  We discourage you from bringing cash.
  • Test results from other facilities
  • Advance Directives

If you are being admitted to the hospital you will be given an identification wristband that will ensure you are given the proper care and treatment during your stay.  You will need to leave it on throughout your entire stay.

Patient Rooms

All of our patient rooms are private and designed with your comfort as one of our top priorities. Located with ease of access to nursing stations, and technologically advanced equipment, each room has bathroom facilities, televisions, private telephones, and comfortable hospital beds.

Food Services

Nourishing meals are part of your treatment and recovery.  Our dietary staff and food service experts will provide you with nutritutious meals prepared in our state-of-the-art Food Service Kitchen.   We are also prepared to provide you with meals according to the wishes of your physician.  If you feel hungry or need a snack during the day, please ask your caregiver for one.  Occasionally due to a test required by your physician, you may not be able to eat.  Your healthcare provider will discuss this information with you as needed.

  • Breakfast

7:00 am to 9:00 am

  • Lunch

11:00 am to 1:00 pm

  • Dinner

5:00 pm to 6:30 pm


We welcome flowers!  However, in certain circumstances flowers may not be allowed.  If you would like to know if an exception applies to a patient, please call 520.868.3000 before ordering or having flowers delivered. Please take all plants and flowers home at time of discharge or they will be discarded.  Flowers can also be purchased on our gift and beverage center located near the entrance to the hospital.

Spiritual Care

All of our patients and their loved ones will have access to spiritual care and support. We can also assist you if you wish to contact your own pastor, minister, rabbi or other spiritual adviser.


Your Florence Healthcare team will decide when you are ready to be discharged.  You or an assigned caregiver will help you know what care you will need once you get home.  Please plan to have transportation or if you need assistance, medical transportation can be arranged.  Discharge instructions will contain all necessary information to make follow-up appointments as well as instructions on medication.  If you have any questions or concerns about your discharge instructions or follow-up treatment, please discuss with your physician or nurse before leaving Florence Community Healthcare.
